In your presence is fullness of joy and at your right hand are pleasures for evermore.
Delight yourself in the Lord.

Mothers' Day

The moms
The men
Some of the kids ate in the foyer - good idea, no carpet!

Celebrating, it was a day to eat I guess. Mothers' day started out with breakfast in bed this year (no pictures please!). French toast, and Jacob helped Dad, it was good! It's always a trick not to get syrup on the sheets. Then we were off to church where they handed out chocolate, yum! Afterwards we picked up Ann's mom and went to Jay's mom's for lunch. While we were there, all of the girls (6 of us) worked on Blake's quilt for graduation. You'll see those pictures next time. Grandma Struve makes a quilt for each high school graduate so it's Blake's turn this year.

Luckily we didn't have to cook when we got home, we ordered Olive Garden and ate at Jason and Vicki's house. But the guys did go get it and clean up afterwards. Here are a few pictures from our relaxing time together.

A Weekend in Chicago

We love Chicago. We love riding the train to downtown, we love walking Michigan Avenue, and we really love the Cubs! We love Marmol and Zambrano pitching, we love Theriot and Fukudome who had four hits when we were there. We went into town to watch the Cubs play the Brewers. It was a great day and a great game, until the last inning...but fun all the same. Then we stayed the rest of the weekend and hooked up with Paul and Penny and the girls to watch Alex run a decathalon in the conference track meet for Wheaton. We had lots of fun even though it did rain. Alex did high jump, shot put, discus, javelin, 1500m, 100m high hurdles, 400m, long jump, pole vault and 100m all in two days, what a concept!
