In your presence is fullness of joy and at your right hand are pleasures for evermore.
Delight yourself in the Lord.

Orchestra Tour

Jacob went on a tour to a Lemme and Regina with the orchestra. They stopped at the mall and ate lunch and spent time at the arcade too. All in all I think he had a fun time!

Hershey Track Meet

Today was the Hershey Track meet. The kids have been doing this forever. Jacob ran the 4 x100 with his friends Trent, Ben, and Ashton. He was the third runner. They missed the handoff slightly. Excuse my language, I just got a little excited. They got third this year. He won the softball throw for his age group. He can go to Marshalltown to compete at the state level in June. It was a great day, really nice weather and good company.

5th and 6th GradeTrack Meet

Today was the 5th and 6th grade track meet for Jacob. They compete against other schools in town. He did the long jump, hurdles, 75mx4, and the buddy walk. They won the buddy walk in the video where you walk on a board with your buddy and hold on to the board with ropes. Jacob is on the back of the board. Jacob is third one in from the left in the hurdle race, black shorts, yellow shirt. It was a really nice day outside and Blake got there to watch the 4x75m, they got 4th. This is a picture of his team at the top. They are all wicked fast. This has always been a highlite of the year for all the kids.

Piano Recital

Here are two pieces Jacob played at his piano recital this spring, Indian Song, and Money Can't Buy Everything. He got to play on the lovely piano at The River along with about 20 other students.
He likes it and actually gets to practice on the same piano. Hopefully he will play for a long time. Add to that guitar and drums which he would also like to learn. I just wish he'd practice his violin more.

Spelling Bee

This was the first year for a spelling bee at Jacob's school. They worked together in teams to spell words they were given earlier in the month. There were about 300 words. We didn't win, but it was a lot of fun and we'll probably do it again next year. Dad got to be the judge. Guess we should've paid him more!

Ho Down

After Jacob's class finished their westward ho class of traveling on the Oregon trail where luckily his family all made it alive, they celebrated with a ho down. Plenty of vittles to eat, and a little square dancing also. See the sod house below, his project for the unit.

Spring Activities

We've been outside a lot this spring. We went on a picnic to City Park a couple of weeks ago. It was a nice day, but Jay and Jacob were busy playing and not attending the grill! It all turned out good though, a great time with friends. Our tree was pretty this year again too. I've got lots of pictures to post, I'll try to do some every couple of days. Enjoy God's creation, get outside!
