Gotta Be Outside

What do you do when cabin fever sets in? Go out and play! We've been to City Park lately enjoying the winter. Jacob took a friend and they got to learn how to snow shoe. Throwing snowballs is easier in snowshoes. We also got to checkout some icefishing tents complete with heaters and comfy seats, you could live in these if you had a tv and a fridge...
Today we went to the park to iceskate. There were some other families there that come out regularly to play hockey. Reminded us of all the broom hockey we used to play in our boots at Mercer. They had an extra stick and invited Jacob to play with them. It was fun, but it sure looks a lot easier on tv than it actually is to play! We have even more respect now for the US team playing in the Olympics. He did take Dad though at the net... We think we'll be back to play some more. Any one who wants to come along is welcome! I think we'll go back next week while the ice is fine...

so much fun!!!!! maybe it will still be cold enough to go when i'm there! funny thing to hope for? it's not cold enough here for any of the lakes to freeze through to walk on, kind of a bummer! where did you get those snow shoes?

Yay for winter! I am just starting to enjoy the cold outdoor activities. Having the right layers makes all the difference. Glad you were able to get out together. Still, C'mon Spring!

I grew up by a pond too where I skated most days. We were at an activity sponsored by the ic rec dept. so we got to use their snow shoes. It was lots of fun and the skating was too, hoping to make it a regular activity. Hoping for spring but actually not for another couple of weeks.
